A permanently cemented fixed bridge is used to replace a missing tooth, or teeth. In its simplest form, it is essentially three crowns connected together with the crowns at each end cemented onto the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth. The missing tooth is the middle of the three crowns, and is known as a “pontic”. Since these teeth are connected together, you would not be able to floss that area as you do your other teeth. It’s easy enough to keep the area clean though – we can show you how.
